The Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation is releasing a Call for Proposals to address homelessness in Manitoba. The BNRC has an Agreement with the Government of Canada to administer the Reaching Home homelessness funding in Manitoba until 2028.
The amount of funding available per stream for this CFP is as follows:
|April 2024 – March 2025
|April 2025 – March 2026
|Rural and Remote
*All funding through this Call for Proposals is conditional upon an amended Agreement being in place between the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation and Infrastructure Canada.
Rural and Remote Homelessness
Eligible recipients located in communities not eligible for funding through the Designated Communities stream (Winnipeg, Brandon and Thompson) are eligible for project-based funding that is available in all provinces under the Rural and Remote Homelessness funding stream.
This funding is used for projects delivered primarily by Indigenous organizations to address the specific needs of the off-reserve homeless Indigenous population.
Eligible activities and expenses must continue to meet the main community priorities:
- Provision of housing and support services
- Homelessness prevention and shelter diversion
- Connecting to health and medical services
- Client support services
- Capital investments
It is important that homeless serving organizations applying for this funding work collaboratively within their community to provide a collective response to the homelessness crisis.
Please review attached information procedure prior to applying.
- Information Package
- Main Application
- Extension Application for existing projects
- Capital Proposal Form (required in addition to application for capital proposals)
- Wage Detail Spreadsheet (required in addition to application for staffing proposals)
Reaching Home funds cannot be used to duplicate services, or fund services that are under Provincial jurisdiction. Applicants for funding for Indigenous projects must demonstrate that the proposed project meets a need in the community and has broad community support. Cost-matching by community partners is encouraged. In addition, projects selected for funding must not create a dependence on, or expectation for, ongoing funding.
