Supporting Manitoba Wildfire Response: Resources & Messaging

Message to our Members

As wildfires continue to threaten communities across Manitoba, our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected—those forced from their homes, those working tirelessly on the front lines, and those living with the uncertainty and fear of what lies ahead.

We stand with you during this incredibly difficult time. We recognize the bravery of the firefighters, emergency responders, and volunteers who are working around the clock to protect lives and property. We are inspired by the resilience and compassion that so many have shown, coming together to support one another in any way they can.

Please know that you are not alone. Our association is committed to doing everything we can to assist and advocate for you in the days ahead. If you need resources, information, or support, do not hesitate to reach out.

We have included some sample messaging for communities to send out to their residents.

Monetary Donations Preferred:

The Province of Manitoba strongly encourages individuals to consider making monetary donations to organizations that are actively providing relief, such as the Canadian Red Cross. Monetary donations allow these organizations to respond quickly and flexibly, meeting immediate and changing needs of evacuees and communities.

Donations to the Canadian Red Cross can be made online at https://www.redcross.ca. Your financial contributions help provide emergency shelter, food, water, medical care, and other vital supports to those who have been displaced by the wildfires. By donating directly, you ensure that resources are used where they are most needed and in a coordinated manner.

If you are able, please consider making a financial donation to support these critical efforts.

Helping Evacuees? Please Donate Responsibly!

If your community is hosting evacuees from the Manitoba wildfires, please ensure you’re donating through designated community donation centres. Only bring the items that these centres have explicitly requested—unsolicited donations can create logistical issues and take away valuable resources. Let’s keep support organized, safe, and effective.

For Other Communities:

If your community is not directly hosting evacuees, the best way to offer support right now—as suggested by the Province of Manitoba—is through financial donations to trusted organizations like the Canadian Red Cross. These monetary contributions help provide emergency assistance where it’s needed most, including shelter, food, water, medical care, and ongoing recovery efforts.

While the desire to donate physical goods is appreciated, financial donations allow relief organizations to respond quickly and flexibly, ensuring that resources are used effectively and appropriately based on evolving needs.

Thank you for your generosity and care during this difficult time. Every contribution makes a difference and helps us support those in need in safe, coordinated, and impactful ways. Together, we can show our strength and compassion as Manitobans.

Please feel free to tailor the messages to your community’s needs. If you have questions or need additional support, don’t hesitate to reach out to our office at ac.sr1751372128otart1751372128sinim1751372128dalap1751372128icinu1751372128m@ofn1751372128i1751372128
