Recreation Manager

The Rural Municipality of St Andrews is seeking applications from talented and qualified candidates for the position of Recreation Manager.

Reporting to the Recreation Director, this position works from and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the St. Andrews Community Club and the various programs, events and rentals occurring in the facility.

The role supports and assists in the delivery and expansion of recreation and leisure services for the Club and the residents of the RM as a whole. The position is required to research, plan, and develop new and evaluate and improve existing programs and services as well as recruits, trains and ensures appropriate volunteer staffing coverage for all hours of operation.

The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary education in Recreation Management or a related field and/or a suitable combination of education and experience, with some experience in a municipal environment preferred. Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and delivery of a wide range of recreation programs and services. Experience in managing a recreation facility would be desirable.  Computer efficiency, website management, social media, basic bookkeeping and budgeting knowledge is required. Successful candidate must possess effective communication skills, interact effectively with the public, problem solve, make decisions, demonstrate initiative and be flexible.

This is a full-time (35 hrs/week) permanent unionized position, offering a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan after a 6-month probation period.  Salary range $47,000 – $53,000 per annum and will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
