These two full-time term positions will be under the direct supervision of the Public Works Manager and reporting to the Public Works Coordinator. Duties will include operation of tractors, compactor, tandem and single axle trucks, skid steer, sidewalk sweepers, snow blowers, grass cutting and other related equipment. Experience with heavy equipment operations such as graders, excavators, front end loaders is a definite asset. This position also performs duties as assigned as they relate to Public Works activities.
Candidate must possess the following:
· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
· A Minimum of two years experience operating and maintaining equipment.
· Valid Class 3 Drivers License with air.
· Have knowledge of Workplace Safety Practices.
· Must be physically fit, able to lift at least 50 pounds.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment is required.
Hours of work will be 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Candidate may be required to work shift work, including weekends and be available for any call out emergencies that may arise from time to time. Salary for 2025 is $27.02 per hour and will be administered in accordance with the current collective agreement.
