Position Summary:

The RM of Gimli is staffing a new position to be responsible for supporting the Management Team in their human resource needs.  Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, and as a member of the Management Team, this new position will provide the full scope of human resource services required by the RM.  This includes recruitment and selection, employee orientation, training and development, human resource and other related policy and procedures development and implementation, labour and employee relations, employee health and safety, compensation and benefits administration, sick leave, WCB, accommodation and return to work program services.  Builds effective working relationships with staff, management and the Union in support of achieving organizational human resource goals.

Qualifications:

·       Ideally, will possess post-secondary education specializing in human resources or possess a suitable combination of education and experience. A CPHR designation or working towards the designation would be an asset.

·       Demonstrated experience providing a wide range of human resource services including but not limited to recruitment, policy and procedure development and implementation, employee orientation and on-boarding, labour and employee relations, and compensation and benefits administration.

·       Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to demonstrate the capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, managers and union representatives.

·       Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions, and to assess, analyze and provide advice on complex matters.

·       Ability and discretion to deal with sensitive and highly confidential RM and employee information.

·       In-depth knowledge of HR practices and legislation in Manitoba including Employment Standards, Human Rights, Labour Relations, Workplace Health and Safety.

The RM anticipates that this position will be a half-time position with the expectation the successful candidate is able to work variable hours. The RM is also open to a hybrid work arrangement.

This is a half-time management position.  The RM offers a comprehensive salary and benefits package.
