The Municipal Climate Internship is a locally focused, youth leadership development
program presented by Environmental Leadership Canada. The program offers
outstanding individuals aged 18-30 the opportunity to gain first-hand experience and
knowledge in municipal climate and environmental issues, solutions, and local
decision-making processes and to take part in cohort-based climate, leadership and
professional development programming.
At the same time, the program will provide critical capacity to help municipalities
advance plans and projects related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The program is seeking to place 9 interns with 6 municipalities in Ontario and 3
municipalities in Manitoba for a 6-month period and is currently welcoming
expressions of interest from municipalities.
