2026 MMA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT
May 1 @ 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Date: Friday, May 1, 2026
Location: Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre, Brandon
Municipal leaders are navigating an increasingly complex and fast-changing environment. Expectations are rising, public discourse is shifting, and the uncertainty that accompanies a municipal election cycle adds another layer of challenge.
The Leadership Summit is designed to give administrators the space to step back from day-to-day operations and focus on the bigger picture — the leadership, governance, and communication strategies that shape strong local government.
This year’s Summit will focus on providing steady, confident leadership in an evolving municipal landscape. As municipalities prepare for the upcoming election cycle, sessions will explore how administrators can navigate shifting expectations, support councils through transition, and lead effectively in times of change.
Importantly, the program will also address one of the defining challenges facing local government today: engaging the public during increasingly uncivil times. Participants will explore practical communication tools, approaches to managing difficult conversations, and considerations around social media use in a rapidly changing information environment.
The program will feature a mix of expert presentations, facilitated discussions, and peer panel conversations focused on the real-world issues affecting municipal administration today.
Beyond the formal sessions, the Summit offers valuable space to reflect on your leadership practice, learn from colleagues, and leave with practical strategies you can apply immediately in your organization.
A detailed agenda and speaker information will be shared in the coming weeks.
