Navigating Your Financial Plan – Winnipeg Session

March 22 – Winnipeg – Canad Inn Fort Garry 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

MSOs Randi Salamanowicz, Delores Macksymchuk, Shelley Jensen and Ann Ransom will provide step-by-step instructions on how to complete the General Operating Fund Budget with a focus on:

  • Expenditure and Revenue
  • Transfers and compliance with Regulation 49/97
  • Calculation of tax levies (mill rates)
  • Utility operating fund budget template
  • Deficit approval and recovery process

Process to adopt and file the Financial Plan (May 15th submission deadline)

  • Council review and approval
  • Public notice
  • Public hearing

Process to adopt and file the Property Tax By-law (June 15th submission deadline)

The MSOs will remain in attendance in order to be available to meet with municipal administrators to provide guidance on 2024 General Operating Fund Budget as well as any other municipal administration inquiries.

Representatives from auditing firms will be in attendance to provide information on what auditors require to complete your audit on schedule.
